"If there's a classically trained company of the future, it's Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. ...This striking group of... versatile young dancers proved that classical technique can express the hippest moods and ideas, and that contemporary ballet, when performed in a straightforward and honest manner, can indeed attract both a young and a mature audience." - Boston Herald

In 1995 Aspen Ballet Company partnered with the City of Santa Fe to create a new professional dance company. A unique hybrid was developed when the resulting company shared by two communities became known as Aspen Santa Fe Ballet.

From its serendipitous beginning, the company quickly found its legs and landed firmly in the spotlight. After successful debuts at the prestigious Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival and the Joyce Theater in New York, the company now averages over 50 performances each year. Aspen Santa Fe Ballet has enthralled audiences on stages throughout North America and Western Europe.

Under the dynamic leadership of Directors Jean-Philippe Malaty and Tom Mossbrucker, the company continually enriches and expands its repertoire with an exciting spectrum of the finest choreographers, encompassing a far-reaching aesthetic vision rooted in an honest expression of the art of dance.

The company's performance on July 8 will include Sinatra Suite, a work they premiered in 1984 set to music sung by Frank Sinatra with choreography by the renowned Twyla Tharp. Also on the evening's program is Noir Blanc, a 2002 commissioned work conceived and directed by Moses Pendleton, Choreographer and Artistic Director of the dance-illusionist company MOMIX.
