"What the festival means to me..."

"To me, An Appalachian Summer Festival means great music, amazing performers and outstanding theatre performances. Every summer people from all over the country descend upon the community of Boone and are treated to a diverse, exciting festival that offers everything from dance to theatre to live music. The talented groups that perform are the best in their field and familiar to the young and young-at-heart. The energy and excitement builds from the moment the festival starts to be promoted and I can't wait to see what is being offered. An Appalachian Summer Festival brings people, money, culture and recognition to a small college town but it also brings a community together to promote the best summer festival in the country. I love being a part of An Appalachian Summer Festival!" - Festival volunteer Jackie McInturff, Boone NC
