An Appalachian Summer Festival Wins Economic Development Award

In early August 2004, An Appalachian Summer Festival was presented with the Alfred Adams Award for Economic Development by the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce, an annual award bestowed on organizations who make a substantial contribution to the economic growth and development of our region.

An Appalachian Summer Festival is a production of the Appalachian State University Office of Arts & Cultural Programs. An Appalachian Summer Festival receives support from the North Carolina Arts Council - an agency funded by the State of North Carolina - and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
