"These are talented kids but not so overly drilled that they have lost their raw charm or sense of excitement... In fact, it's difficult to say who is having more fun-- the choir or the audience." - The Scotsman

With a focus on caring for children of Africa orphaned by disease, poverty or war, the African Children's Choir has been funding the education of thousands of African Children since 1984. Each year, a new group of singers is selected and the children from the previous year's choir return to their homelands to attend school. These are children who have every reason to lose hope, but who have overcome their circumstances and are now a voice of inspiration and hope for millions of children suffering in Africa.

The choir's performance features singing, dancing and drumming indigenous to their home countries. The children have performed at many prestigious events and concert halls; for Kofi Annan at the UN General Assembly Hall in New York; with Mariah Carey & Sir Paul McCartney at Live 8 in London; and at Nelson Mandela's AIDS Awareness Concert in South Africa. In 2008, the African Children's Choir performed for Queen Elizabeth II and appeared at a special concert at the White House for President George W. Bush. The choir also been featured on hit TV shows such as American Idol, The Tonight Show and the Ellen Degeneres Show.

Pre-concert concessions provided by Peabody's Wine & Beer Merchants, Stick Boy Bread Company and Melanie's.
