A glorious documentary profile of musicians who play on the sidewalks and in the Metro of Paris. Awardwinning filmmaker Heddy Honigmann illuminates the lives and music of a ragtag group of musicians united by political repression and the boundless courage that led them to find refuge in Paris. Music becomes their economic lifeline, and a shining metaphor for their will to survive.

The Magic of Motion Pictures

Films draw us into another world through a magical connection that can lead to understanding, self-realization, heartbreak, joy and pure entertainment. An Appalachian Summer Festival first presented a film series in 2008, and invites you to, once again, give in to the magic of the movies as we present, through these films, four distinct experiences that connect us with our world.
